If you are like me, you love learning. You love learning about user experience, usability, consumer psychology, design and… well, tonnes of different topics.
Living in Europe, I become very envious when I see all those amazing conferences and workshops where some of leading UX authorities in the world talk and teach. Often these events are held in the USA.
Books help me. Not as much as seeing the thought leaders in action, but enough to learn more about the subject… it just requires a lot of self-motivation, and money to buy these books.
All is not lost, because in this post, I want to share with you a list of 10 books that cost less than $10 each, that I personally consider to be related to our UX profession.
Is there a twist… of course there is a twist. The prices are related to the Amazon Kindle version of the books. We saved a couple of trees, created digital books, and this all helps us to keep the prices down.
TIP: Did you know that if you own an Amazon Kindle outside of the USA, you’ll see higher prices than owners living in the USA. Log into Amazon, open ‘Manage Your Kindle’, go to ‘Country Settings’ and edit your country to United States to see and make use of cheaper prices!
I hope the tip helps
alright, back on track.
Today, you can read Kindle books on a load of platforms. Amazon has Kindle apps for you iOS devices, and even for you Mac, just in case you wondered. The new Kindle Cloud Reader will even let you read your books from a browser. Not that I have tried this, but for reference books, it is amazing!
“Don’t hold back”, I would say. Reading on the eInk version of a Kindle could of course be less of an experience when reading books with illustrations, but for most of these books the Kindle Paperwhite would be a nice companion.
Do you want to win a ‘Kindle’ copy of one of these books? Good, because I am giving away 1 copy of one of the books in the list.
